Frequently asked questions

Can we use funding programmes?
Yes, in principle. We are happy to set up your digitalization project under a classic funding programme – if you want to use a grant, we will guide you through the application, documentation and proof-of-use phases.

But: funding procedures take time. Often months, sometimes more than a year. If you want to start fast and see results immediately, experience shows you are usually better off without funding – the speed advantage and the absence of paperwork tend to outweigh the grant amount. Our recommendation: calculate both options together in the free initial meeting and then decide.
How long does development take?
You will be holding the first working prototype after 72 hours. The complete project – up to live operation with all integrations – takes between three and six weeks, depending on scope. During that time you work iteratively with real code, see interim builds, and give feedback. More complex integrations (ERP, machine control, third-party systems) are usually added as a second step right after go-live.
What types of applications are conceivable?
Practically anything that can be represented on computers, tablets or phones:

How does it work with the AI servers? Are they needed?
It depends on what your application should do. For pure user interfaces, data flows and workflow automation, you usually don't need AI. But as soon as speech or image recognition, classification, summarization or prediction comes into play, an AI server helps. We offer two models:
  • Hosting with us: For a monthly flat rate we provide AI capacity from our data centres in Neustadt am Rübenberge and Frankfurt am Main. No hardware investment, cancellable anytime, German server locations.
  • In your own network: We install AI hardware directly at your site. Data never leaves the company network. Setting up such a solution costs around €20,000 net one-time; ongoing operation is handled by your IT team or by us under a service contract.
Are hardware costs included? Is hardware needed at all?
The developed applications run either on your existing hardware or in our data centre:
  • In your network: often an existing server or small machine is enough. Data stays with you, no cloud contract required.
  • Hosting with us: For a monthly flat rate we operate the application on MEYER EDV GmbH servers in Germany – including automatic data backup and with no hardware investment on your side.
Which option is more economical depends on load profile and data-protection requirements – we present a transparent comparison for both.
